At Mercer, we’re stepping up to the investment challenges of the global marketplace. Trustees, corporations, foundations and fund managers around the world increasingly rely on our market insight and technical expertise.
In fact, our consultants now provide over 2,700 clients with practical solutions and investment advice on all aspects of institutional investing – from strategy structure and implementation through to portfolio monitoring and risk management.
We have a number of specialist teams, too. The Financial Strategy Group, for instance, delivers strategic financial consulting advice to pension sponsors, trustees and managers. This involves working with the largest and most sophisticated clients to help them achieve their own unique risk management objectives. We also have the Mercer Sentinel Group, a dedicated specialist global business group focused solely on evaluating and advising clients on non-financial risks, primarily operational and implementation risks.
As you might expect, Investments is a broad area, so there are a number of career opportunities open to you.
Investment Analysts help determine investment strategies and manager structures for clients by producing monitoring reports and assisting with fund manager selection exercises.
Asset Transitions Coordinators advise and guide companies who wish to change the investment strategy of their pension scheme to reduce the operational risks involved.
Financial Strategy Analysts work on a range of pension and risk consultancy projects for both trustee and corporate clients – adapting technical modeling tools to specific client situations.
Whichever team you join, you’ll complete the Investment Management Certificate and then elect to study towards becoming either an Actuary or a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
